Information over work environment and tasks
Developmental disabilities nurses care
for those with mental or developmental disabilities. These disabilities range
from things like autism, mental retardation, down syndrome, and many more. A
developmental disabilities nurse works with the patient and their family. The
job of a developmental disability nurse is to help patients with feeding,
encouraging their independent mobility, helping the patient with language and
communication skills, and communicating with the family about the patients condition.
These type of nurses can work in many different types of settings like
hospitals, schools, work places, retirement homes, and even in the patients
home. These nurses also often develop long term relationships with their
patients.
